In Vintage Story, the settings that matter most apply only at world creation and are locked in forever after. xegen creates the world for you with the official server engine, your climate, death rules, storms, and world size already baked in, and hands you the finished save.

How to install the world

  1. Dedicated server: unzip, move the .vcdbs into your server's Saves/ folder and set WorldConfig.SaveFileLocation in serverconfig.json to its path, then start the server.
  2. Singleplayer: drop the .vcdbs into VintagestoryData/Saves/ and pick it from the world list.

Why creation-time settings matter

World climate model, world width and length, polar-equator distance, seasons, and more can never be changed after the first chunk generates. The zip includes a worldconfig.json receipt of exactly what your world was created with. Want it hosted instead? Run a Vintage Story server with Supercraft.
