How to install the world

  1. Dedicated server: unzip, move the .vcdbs into your server's Saves/ folder and set WorldConfig.SaveFileLocation in serverconfig.json to its path, then start the server.
  2. Singleplayer: drop the .vcdbs into VintagestoryData/Saves/ and pick it from the world list.

Why creation-time settings matter

World climate model, world width and length, polar-equator distance, seasons, and more can never be changed after the first chunk generates. The zip includes a worldconfig.json receipt of exactly what your world was created with. Want it hosted instead? Run a Vintage Story server with Supercraft.

Frequently asked questions

Why generate the world here instead of editing serverconfig.json?

Most Vintage Story world settings (climate model, world size, seasons, death rules, temporal mechanics) apply ONLY when the world is created; changing them later does nothing. We create the world server-side with your settings already baked in, so the order of operations cannot go wrong.

What do I get?

A finished Vintage Story save (.vcdbs in a zip) created by the official dedicated server, plus a worldconfig.json receipt of the settings inside the zip.

How do I install it on my server?

Unzip, put the .vcdbs into your server's data Saves folder, and point WorldConfig SaveFileLocation in serverconfig.json at it (or pick it in the GUI). Singleplayer: drop it into VintagestoryData/Saves.

Which version?

Current stable Vintage Story (1.22.x), generated by the official dedicated server. The save loads in matching or newer versions.

How long is the download valid?

Links expire after 24 hours. Generation is limited to 4 worlds per day per user.
