How is the best map picked?

We generate 8 candidate seeds with the official Factorio 2.0.77 headless engine with Space Age, quality and elevated-rails enabled, render each preview, and score them: all four starter resources near spawn, moderate water for defense, oil and uranium reachable, low biter pressure around the starting area. You get the winner. Because Space Age is enabled, the save needs the expansion to load.

Can I use my own seed?

Yes. Enter a seed and we generate exactly that map (no curation) with its preview and save file.

Which Factorio version?

Current stable (2.x), generated by the official headless build, default map settings. The save loads in matching or newer versions.

How long is the download valid?

Links expire after 24 hours. Generation is limited to 4 maps per day per user.

Generated with Factorio 2.0.77 headless (stable), Space Age enabled. The engine also has quality and elevated-rails on, so every save here is a Space Age world: players without the expansion cannot load it, and neither can a base-game server. 2.1 is experimental and not used here, deliberately, because a save opened in 2.1 can never be moved back to 2.0. Seeds are scored against this exact build, so the same seed on another version can differ.

How to use the save

Dedicated server: upload the zip to your server's saves/ directory and start with --start-server saves/<name>.zip. Pair it with a server-settings.json so your server actually shows up in the public list.
Singleplayer: drop it into your local saves/ folder and load it in game.

What the score means

Good starts have iron, copper, coal, and stone in chunky patches near spawn, water close enough for boilers and defense lines, oil and uranium within expansion range, and no biter nests breathing down your neck.
