Minecraft MOTD Generator
Add colors and formatting to your server's message of the day, see it exactly as players will in the server list, and copy a server.properties-ready line with the correct escapes. Two lines supported. Runs in your browser.
How to set your server MOTD
- Type your message above. Click a color swatch or a format button to insert its code at the cursor - the preview updates live so you see the real server-list result.
- Press Enter for a second line (the multiplayer list shows two).
- Copy the server.properties line, open your server's
server.properties, and replace themotd=value with it. Restart the server.
Use the escaped output for server.properties: it writes the section sign as \u00A7 and line breaks as \u000A, which the server reads correctly - paste the raw section sign directly and many setups show literal symbols instead of color. The codes are standard Minecraft formatting codes, so the same line works on vanilla, Bukkit, Spigot, and Paper.
Running the server this MOTD is for?
The MOTD is the first thing players see in the server list - worth getting right on a server that is actually online and joinable. The tool is free and needs no account; if you still need somewhere to host the server, Supercraft is one option among many.
